Beware of Housing and Data Scams
The Society for Glycobiology (SFG) has been alerted that unauthorized housing companies (called hotel “poachers”) have been contacting registered attendees and exhibitors offering cheaper rates at hotels in the SFG 2025 Annual Meeting Hotel Room block. This practice, also known as room pirating, is a scam that all conference attendees should be aware of in order to avoid passing along personal and financial information.
To ensure your comfort and security and to avoid any potential issues with unauthorized providers, we strongly encourage you to book your accommodations exclusively through the official housing link provided by SFG on the Hotel and Travel website.  The Society for Glycobiology (SFG) and the Sheraton San Diego Resort will never contact you to book your room for you. 
If you are ever unsure whether or not something is legitimate, contact the SFG Customer Service Team at [email protected] first before providing your personal information, company information, or any financial information.

We strongly encourage you to book as part of the conference room block. Not only will you be close to conference activities and other participants, you'll help ensure that SFG meets its contracted commitments, which help hold down the overall conference costs.
  Room Rate: 

$269+ single/double occupancy plus taxes (12.7% per night) and a daily resort fee of $22.54 ($20 plus taxes) 

Note:  A portion of the hotel rate is returned to SFG as a rebate to help offset meeting costs. By booking within the official room block, you are supporting the Society and helping to keep overall meeting expenses down.

Travel Information

Airport:
San Diego International Airport (SAN) is located 0.5 miles from the Sheraton San Diego Resort

Airport Shuttle:
The Sheraton San Diego Resort offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the San Diego International Airport.  It runs daily every 30-40 minutes from 4:45 am until midnight.

Ground Transportation

  • Rideshare Services: Lyft and Uber are readily available at designated pickup zones at San Diego International Airport. A ride to the Sheraton San Diego Resort typically costs between $8 and $12.
  • Taxis: Curbside taxi service is also available at the airport, with fares comparable to rideshare options.

Parking:
Onsite self-parking at the hotel is $50 per day and valet parking is $67 per day. Parking prices are subject to change.
