Welcome to SfG

The Society for Glycobiology is a non-profit scholarly society devoted to the pursuit of knowledge among scientists worldwide.

The objectives of the society are to promote knowledge, encourage research, educate young scientists and stimulate personal communication in an inter-disciplinary sense, using as the common meeting ground an interest in the complex carbohydrates of glycoproteins, glycolipids, glycosaminoglycans, and the biological systems in which they are found.

Carolyn BertozziThe Society for Glycobiology cordially congratulates Carolyn Bertozzi with the 2022 Nobel Prize in Chemistry which was awarded to her, together with Morten Meldal and Barry Sharpless!

The Society is proud and happy for Carolyn, one of our most celebrated and illustrious members who made exceptional contributions in the field of Glycobiology. We wish Carolyn all the best and every success in her future scientific endeavors. The Society for Glycobiology Board of Directors.
