Postdoctoral Researcher in Glycosaminoglycan Biology

Research Description 
The Weiss Lab at The University of Georgia's Complex Carbohydrate Research Center (www.ccrc.uga.edu) is looking to recruit a motivated postdoctoral researcher to work on research projects focusing on the regulation of glycosaminoglycan biosynthesis in human diseases. Successful applicants will join an exciting new research program and will develop genomic and chemical biology tools to investigate the regulatory mechanisms of glycosylation. The position is available as early as March 1, 2021 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package and competitive salary. 

Requirements: 
  • Ph.D. in biochemistry, genetics, cell biology or a related discipline. 
  • Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture techniques, CRISPR/Cas9 technologies, and/or epigenetic/transcriptional tools to study gene regulation 
  • First author publications in biochemistry, genetics, or cell/molecular biology 
  • Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English 
  • Team player who thrives working creatively in a collaborative scientific environment
